...Golek

Posted by: Hrvoje Golek on February 13, 2000

Name 1: Antun Golek (Great Grand Father); Vladimir Golek (Grand Father)
Name 2: Berta Kovac
Location: Velika Pozega, Croatia

The only thing I know is that my Great Grand Father was Antun Golek - he had 2 daughters and 7 sons: Marija, Katica, Milan, Pero, Vladimir, Stjepan, Pavle, Ivan, Slavko. I know that his wife's name was Berta Kovac. He was born in the 1890's, around the town of Velika, probably Biskupci.

I need to know who were my ancestors before Antun Golek (~5 generations before him), dates of births and deaths, who they were married to, kids and where they lived.

Janko Golubich was born in 1868 in Golubich (unsure) a village possibly near Zumberak. His father Gregory Golubich, his mother was Barbara.
Mara Gvozdanovic was born around the same time in Budinjak. Her extended family lived in Zumberak Hills. She was an orphan at 3 years and lived with relatives in Zumberak.

...Grubisic; Petrovic; Starchevic

Posted by Ashley Tiwara

Name 1: Grubisic
Name 2: Petrovic
Name 3: Starchevic
Name 4: Blazevic
Location: Sunger and Mrkopalj, Croatia

Looking for Grandma's grandfather BLAZEVIC, first name unknown, born circa 1845--1850, son of Grga BLAZEVIC, mother unknown.
Unknown BLAZEVIC married Katharine PETROVICH perhaps around 1865?
Children include Justina, Maria, Lucy, Frank.

Would welcome correspondence with any researchers in the Fuzine/Delnice/Gorski Kotar area as well as anyone doing Mrkopalj.
Anyone researching any of these names elsewhere, Croatia, Austria, USA, Canada?

I'm looking for any GRUBISIC connections worldwide but especialy earlier in Croatia and then in the middle western part of the USA, in New Mexica, and in Washington state.

Grandpa's father, Josip GRUBISIC, 1834-1910, had 5 sisters. Terezija married an unknown STARCHEVIC, Barbara married Martin GECAN, and I don't know what happened to Marija, Katarina, and Lucija. Anyone looking for these names?

Also looking for Grandma's family.
Matt PETROVICH married Kata KRUZICH around 1850 and had 4 children. I'd particularly like to know what happened to Anton PETROVICH, possibly married 1906 Maria BLAZEVIC, and Katarina PETROVICH, who may have married an ISKRA / ESKRA

Hello,
I do not know if this will help you - but maybe.
My late husband had a cousin who married a Pero Grubisic from a small village with the same name near Muc, Postinje in the mountains up from Split, Dalmacija. He has passed away but you may have a new location to follow. In those villages are the names Mijac, Zekan, Soldo etc. I have been there just once.
Good luck,
Doreen Predovich Mijac
