The
Johnny-B-Good story, including the Johnny B.Good-threat
that worked (!?!)
.... and about the payment of US$ 3000,00+
to "Dr" Georg Adem, for services NEVER
(?) rendered ! |
This might be a long
story, but if you read it all, it could go a long way towards making
you understand the mechanism
of at least ONE of the countless imaginative shady internet enterprises,
and the way good, honest, hardworking and intelligent people still
fall prey to it

Johnny B. Good to Silly Goose, August 2000 :-
August 21st
Silly,
Very cool site. About the same thing happened to me except
the dollars were a little higher. $2300 for a Panama ibc including
a Swiss bank account. Like a dumb ass I also ordered another
bank account 2 weeks later ($500).
Still waiting for that jerk to respond.
There are is a forum (http://curzoninc.com) where I kinda
unloaded on him. Georg is supposedly a moderator of one of
the forums.
Anyway great site. I made one on geocities but my rage settled
down before it was complete. Do you mind if I "splash" your
site around. If nothing else it'll make ME feel better.

Actually I've been doing some research today to see how I
could put a monkey wrench into his works and maybe fore-warn
others of his BS.
He has a new address and has some of the old ones still active:
http://privcom.org/ is the site he uses to sell his version
of jfax.com. It's the same service except he doubles the price.
http://www.panama-trust.cx/ Newest version of Privacy-consultants
but with a Christmas Island twist. This site won't last long
as the .cx folks are requiring all previously registered domains
to re-register with "now required" real identity. This may
be simply a redirection service he is using.
http://www.geocities.com/offshore_33612/index.html is the
site I started after I finally decided that I had been screwed.
I didn't complete it. I thought somehow I could maybe hold
it over his head (by innuendo or somthin). Thinking I would
come back to it and add in the nastiest stuff I could think
of. I did however, register the site with about a gazillion
search engines. I also used the meta tags in the header from
George's site in the geocities header thinking the same hits
he gets, may also hit the geocities site.
Anyway I never followed through.
I did slam him pretty good in "Offshore Service Providers"
at the CPS site under the name of "bernard". Also in the "Second
Passports" forum, of which he is a moderator.
I'll get Back to you with the "proof" stuff tomorrow. I have
now dropped all ideas I had about PT stuff. I think they're
all crooks.

Here's quick overview of my involvement with Georg.
In my circle of friends and beer drinking buddies I've been
the "resident computer guru" for many years. The person they
turn to when all other remedies fail. When dealing with me
they are always cautious not to constantly bug me about computer
stuff. But still the guy they can rely on in case something
goes completely in the toilet. A lot of my buddies are entrepreneurs
in whatever they do. On of them, for example, is the CEO of
a very large Wall Street brokerage firm. His income is somewhere
in the 50m range. He's the exception though. Most are comfortable
but probably 90 days from bankruptcy [ ;-)] .
Anyway with all the recent publicity in adult sites (the famous
Dorm Cam is located in our area) I finally agreed to give
it a try and formed a handshake partnership with a couple
of friends. I set up a test site and ran it for 90 days. The
results were mixed but generally indicated huge profits may
be possible if properly maintained.
As part of our "what if" scenario we thought that if we held
the profits from our endeavor in an offshore bank, when we
were ready to retire and sail around the world the cash would
be there for us to disburse. Taxation would not be a problem
because, according to everything we read, "so long as the
transactions are all offshore, and the individual does not
own the bank account, tax avoidance is possible".
I contacted George and asked for a Panama corp. and associated
bank account. One of my partners sent him a money order for
$2300 in Finland on May 30th (ish). After a week or so Georg
acknowledged receipt of the money. A week later responding
to an email he said his Panama attorney hadn't completed the
deal yet.
In the mean time I thought we would probably need a means
to pay for expenses of the business so asked Georg for his
Europe II deal which was a European bank account. I sent him
$500 in E-Gold, his proffered method.
After I sent him the $500, I asked if the bank was on line
and could I use it for wire transfers, checks etc.. He seemed
proud to say yes and gave me the url (http://www.optiva.ee/default_ie.asp)
to the site.
While waiting for the Europe II deal, the Panama stuff arrives
(after several email promptings). The Panama stuff looks ok.
The originals are in Spanish but there are notarized English
copies.
The Swiss bank stuff arrives some time later. Every bit of
it is in German. Another email to Georg being careful not
to sound too angry. Georg faxes a copy of an application already
filled out. He "blacks" out areas where there was someone
else's name but makes notes on the application such as "Your
name here" etc.. Of the six pages he faxed, only one matched
the originals, sent by the bank.
No response from Georg since. I contacted the Swiss bank (https://www.yellownet.ch/)
and had them send me the application in English.
I must have a really weird brain. After recounting this, I
know I haven't given you all the details, and may not have
the events in the right order but I am still so raging mad
I can't think about it clearly. Again mostly mad at myself
for letting this happen.
To summarize I can say this:
To get an offshore bank account, one needs simply contact
the bank direct. The same ID is required whether applied for
via a crook or ones self.
To get an offshore corporation, it is both cheaper and more
efficient to use legitimate means.
For an American citizen, tax avoidance is such a pain in the
ass, it must be reserved for the very rich, who are in themselves,
a pain in the ass
I'll keep you informed of my ventures into the total demise
of at least one jerk on the internet, if you like.

I just can't stand getting screwed. Especially when I should
know better. I should have been able to see right through
this thing.
I think I let my guard down when I saw so many sites on the
net saying basically the same thing. That you can achieve
total anonymity and tax avoidance (legally).
Anyway, to further feed my raging frenzy I have registered
"privacy-consultants.net" and bought space on Yahoo. I'm not
a big Yahoo freak but it was the easiest and quickest way
to get it going. Probably will take a few days for DNS to
pick it up at: http://www.privacy-counsultants.net
I'm setting up email auto-responders with similar names to
Georg. The 1st one is mailto:kounselor@privacy-consultants.net
Which will respond with:
You too could get screwed by Dr Georg Adem (or what
ever name he is using this week).
I think they allow 10 emails with or without auto responders.
I'm going to look for other emails he is using and do something
similar. You think I'm getting radical? Probably. But if it
feels good..... do it.
Can you think of any cute ideas on others I might use?
Yes lets work together on this thing. You are right. You alone
or, me alone looks like a case of sour grapes. Two or more
gives us more credibility.
I really like the way you designed your site. All the neat
gadgets for quoting G's email and stuff. I'll credit you for
the great design and forget the Mac is pretty good too.
Lets stay with your site for details and I'll use Yahoo (www.privacy-consultants.net)
for generating traffic. The yahoo site will simply get their
attention and provide a link to Appleby. Not to say Appleby
shouldn't generate traffic also, but I'll gear yahoo's meta
tags to emulate AltaVista searches for G's site as well as
others. I'll give you the access numbers, passwords etc for
the Yahoo site so you can make changes, when the dns is propagated.
At the moment its accessible at http://216.188.154.205/ Just
the basic index is loaded so far. I'll add to it shortly.
Yahoo also provides forum management. I know you have one.
Let me see what features and tracking Yahoo has before we
decide on which site to use. I agree CPS is not a very good
forum but I'm thinking of driving some traffic to them, then
back to us, so we don't appear to be on a rampage just to
get Georg. In fact, if we bring down someone else who is doing
the same thing as G, that would be a good thing.
I had forgotten one of my partners had used a cc to charge
a $300 "consulting fee" at G's book store. We have since denied
the charge on the credit card and I intend to use that info
to further my research and demolition plan.
More soon, Johnny B. Good

I'm working on my Yahoo site http://www.privacy-consultants.net
a little at a time. I have the theme kinda in place but not
much detail yet. Some of the links don't go where they should.
Just a basic shell which I can easily edit. But you can get
an idea of the format I'm going to use. Let me know your thoughts.
Yahoo has a program you can include in your site for messages.
I've put it on. It's nothing fancy. I'll look into running
one in the public Yahoo. No need for your help at this point.
I'm only working on it part time. Gotta make a living too
:-)/oo
The net detectives are a no good. I have some software from
one of them and didn't find it helpful in my business (trouble
shooting ip networks). Their ability is limited to the resources
available to anyone on the net. I used a "ping" software package
to find out where G's stuff was. Everything on the same server
and not very sophisticated. I'm not really interested in doing
damage to his physical operation. Just his reputation and
ability to do business on the net. Actually, in the passport
business, he can make a couple of sales a year and live pretty
good. My goal is to stop him from making a single sale. Some
sites are legit. They tell you up front that the services
they provide are effective only if the person you are trying
to deceive is a complete idiot. That narrows the customers'
use to a very few countries ;-)

I read your reply. Good job! Feel better? I had a weird feeling
after I had posted my reply. I actually felt pity for him.
He was sooo immature. Then I got over it and felt great!
There were some major structural changes on CPS when I looked
at it this am. Our replies may not last long.
By The Technical Way: G has a number of "doorway" pages at
his site which facilitate serving all the different url addresses
he has all over the place. It is a pretty good scheme to,
among other things, rank yourself higher in search engines.
I plan to do the same thing at Privacy except they will all
be for spider use only. Probably two or three hundred. Some
time later this week. No, not by hand or manually like G did,
I have a piece of software which does it quickly and seamlessly.

I heard from Georg at Hush Mail
I guess he will be contacting you as well. He still says he
never got paid so I'm not sure how well you will be able to
negotiate. My intent is to answer his kind offer of fixing
things with an emphatic "No".
I won't answer him until you are satisfied. If you feel it
necessary in your negotiations to cause the Privacy to come
down, that's ok with me. I'll help with whatever I can in
hopes that you get some kind of settlement. Just let me know.

Whether he actually got the money is not relevant. You sent
it in good faith. If it weren't for his stupid cloak and dagger
tactics, you'd have paid him with a credit card. Because of
his own BS about secrecy, maybe his bank screwed him.
"Give the witch her money and get her off my back" is what
he should be thinking. You are hurting him and he knows it.
As for me, no I'm not the least bit interested in doing business
with him. The consensus at the watering hole where I hang
out is that we lure him to Florida. Some of the guys believe
he's from Miami anyway. Once here, he'll be an easy mark to
identify. Another of the group is an executive in law enforcement.
Once identified, we can play with him big time. Or whatever.
Nobody's figured out that part yet. It's good conversation
over a few beers. The longer this thing strings out, the more
fun we'll have with it.
On the business side, we've decided to take the plunge. We're
going to do it in the US and let Uncle Sam have his 40% of
the profits. We'll just have to work a little harder to make
money at it. If it works, fine. If it doesn't, that's ok too.
My partner and I each enjoy a fairly comfortable life. This
would just be frosting on the cake.

I think the bottom line is, he is worried about our impact
on his internet business. He is squirming. You done good.
I'm not sure you should have sent a cc to me though. He may
think he has to satisfy both of us before the bad publicity
goes away. You might rather have him think if he satisfies
you, things will get better. The immediate goal, of course,
is to get your 2g's back. After that .....
He hasn't yet deleted or edited the CPS forum stuff. I took
your suggestion and made copies of the forum and have them
available on the Yahoo server. In the mean time I also setup
another forum, using the Snitz software, on a different server.
A look alike.
Not sure yet how I'm going to use it, but I'll think of something.

September 6th
Hi Silly Goose,
I'm going to back off "getting Georg". I can not afford to
put my business in jeopardy. Too many people depend on me.
I can't put them at risk for a no win game I'm playing.
I am so sorry I couldn't continue with you and hope you understand.
